Light, Darkness & Ketu

Image
Through the darkness of future past, the magician longs to see, one chance out between two worlds, fire walk with me! The 8th house, co-ruled by Ketu, is the dark house, the house of secrets. There are great treasures buried in that house, but to access them one must possess a special gift, a sixth sense. Ketu isn't guided by the senses but by feeling, it is wondering headless in the bhava he inhabits. But not all those who wonder are lost . Ketu rules contrast, black and white, the interplay of opposites. When we see flickering lights, we are experiencing the activation of Ketu and 8th house in our lives as we are witnessing Ketu's energy as the ruler of polarity—light and darkness, presence and absence, moments of clarity within confusion. It is the universe indicating that a secret—a hidden treasure—is about to surface, that an important piece of information is about to be revealed to us. David Lynch is a Ketu native (Magha nakshatra) who was unconsciously channeling this se...

Scorpio & the 8th house

Image
Mahavidya Dhumavati rules Ketu & the 8th house The 8th house is where we store the things that we do not want to face and that keep accumulating until they have to come out in a sudden and uncomfortable way. Whatever is stored in this house is kept in the dark, we don’t want to show anyone what’s in there and sometimes we are not even aware of these ourselves. It is said to be the most evil house because it is dark, it is difficult to see there and the planet / sign sitting there lacks clear direction. This is why Ketu rules Scorpio and the 8 th house – Ketu is headless so he isn’t bothered by the darkness; Ketu is guided solely by intuition and as a ruler of the dark house, he teaches us how to navigate those dark aspects of our lives. Mars is the other ruler of Scorpio as he is the giver of courage necessary to face what’s stored in the 8th house, while Ketu burns away attachments, leading us closer to liberation. Mars and Ketu are both hot fiery planets because we have to burn w...

Serpents: Guardians of knowledge & of the secret to immortality

Image
Padmanabhaswamy temple vault, guarded by Naga, is said to contain treasures worth more than a trillion dollars Serpents are quite misunderstood creatures and the mystery surrounding them and their involvement in humans’ spiritual journey has been pondered upon by occultists and spiritual practitioners throughout centuries. Naga (the higher race of serpents) have a very important place in the realm of occult and spiritual practices as they are the guardians of knowledge and by gaining their favour one can access higher esoteric and spiritual knowledge. The race of Naga is undoubtedly very powerful and their connection with the human race up until a certain point in time is widely accepted in India by scholars and sadhakas of different paths; although there is a difference of opinion regarding the present-day involvement of Naga within our realm. Spiritual practice is an internal process and spiritual growth, although having external symptoms recognisable by the sadhaka’s entourage, has ...

Using astral projection to improve our spiritual practice

Image
In Projection of the Astral Body (1929), Sylvan Muldoon talks about how hunger can promote astral projection and reduce our need for sleep while simultaneously increasing our energy intake. Muldoon uses the term "cord activity range" to refer to the distance between the physical gross body and the astral body, after the latter has left the former. When we fall asleep, we are actually rising as we - situated in the subtle body - leave our gross body by moving in an upward vertical direction. What links our astral body to our gross body is a subtle cord which can extend almost infinitely as it is not subject to the laws of the three-dimensional world as we know it, and the longer this cord becomes the more energy can be gathered from the subtle plane that is later transfered into our gross body. In other words, we recharge our body during sleep by gathering energy from the astral plane and the longer the cord activity range, the more energy can be accumulated. Muldoon goes on t...

The Vishakha archetype of the Midnight Mass

Image
Notes on this Vishakha archetype portrayed by Vishakha native Hamish Linklater.   Spoiler alert . Brihaspati, ruler of Jupiter is literally a priest and Jupiter expands by sharing knowledge. Note that knowledge is that thing which multiplies when shared & Jupiter ruled Vishakha grows by splitting. ViSHAKha is the SHOCK that causes to split and grow.   That splitting shows Vishakha natives’ tendency to split personalities, the “good” vs the “bad”. Pruitt is a great representation of that Vishakha “split” as he embodies both the desire for enlightenment and the descent into darkness; on the one hand he genuinely wants to do good and guide the people towards Heaven and eternal life through consumption of “Amrita” (both Indra themes) and on the other hand he turns into a blood drinking creature who ends up bringing ruin to the very people he wishes to save.  When Vishakha is active, it shows great somaa drinkers (indragni) wanting to drink the amrita or the potion of eter...

Without the union between masculine and feminine there cannot be creation

Image
Everything exists because of the love between Radha and Krsna, or Siva and Shakti. The feminine and masculine principles exist in the spiritual plane and there is nothing higher than their play, the constant union and separation between them. In our body, the Kundalini shakti is asleep in the Muladhara chakra and Shiva resides in the Ajña chakra. Every spiritual goal is accompanied by the awakening of the Kundalini. When we concentrate on serving the divine couple in their form of Rahd Krsna, Laxmi Narayana, or Shiva Parvati, we are automatically serving Kundalini Shakti and her consort. When Maha Visnu, who lies in the causal ocean, glances over prakriti, His glance who is Shiva, enters prakriti and creation begins. Without the union between Shiva and prakriti, creation cannot begin. This union between the masculine and feminine principles exists everywhere since it is the basis of existence. In this world, human bodies are made in the image of the divine masculine and feminine. When ...

Lessons from Saturn

Image
Saturn has a connection to karma and kala (time), which are interconnected due to the fact that karma can only exist within the limits of material time. In the spiritual realm, there is no time (or not the time that we, as conditioned beings, experience). In the spiritual dimension, time is always present (time is the present), and spiritual time works as a servant of Bhagavan to facilitate His pastimes. In the material dimension, the conditioned living entities are servants of time, and time acts as an unforgiving master. Karma and kala work together, keeping us chained to this material realm which is itself in constant decay/renewal due to the influence of time. In due course of time, we will all reap the fruits of our previous karma. “For whatever a man sows, that he will also reap”. So like the other planets, Saturn is indispensable in our lives just as a strict figure is sometimes necessary in order to shape us and make us stronger; and Saturn will manifest through such peop...
